Thaipusam 2009 @ Batu Caves

Arrived at Batu Caves on 8th Feb with a group of friends at around 6.50am. I have set a theme for myself this year, mainly human expression and details. I need to travel light to conserve energy as i didn't sleep the night before. Hence i only brought 2 lens with me. A 85mm f1.8 and a 17-40mm f4. With minimal equipment, i can move in the crowd more easily to get a good vantage point. It also help me to concentrate on my composition as i don't have to hesitate which focal length should i use.
Whenever going to crowded places like this, make sure you secure your belongings properly. Place your wallet and mobile phone in a small bag or a pouch carried in front of you. Do check if the zipper is secure from time to time. One of my friend's mobile phone got stolen that morning while busy taking picture. Make sure you wear proper shoes if you don't want to be stepped on the toe. A bottle of drinking water is a must. Do bring extra battery and memory card for the camera. It is recommended to bring along a disposable rain coat too.
